GDPR, personal data and lawful use

Our files contain no personal data

The datasets we sell are geographic reference data: administrative regions, cities, postal codes, street names, house numbers, coordinates and elevation. They contain no surnames, no first names, no telephone numbers and no e-mail addresses, and they are not linked to any identified individual. A postal address on its own, with nobody attached to it, is not personal data.

Because of this, buying and using our files does not, in itself, put you in scope of the GDPR.

Your own use may be in scope

If you combine our data with your own customer, prospect or user data, that combined processing is yours and remains subject to the GDPR and to any other applicable local law. You are the controller of that processing.

Marketing and cold calling

Our data contains no telephone numbers, so it cannot be used to build a calling list. If you carry out direct marketing using your own contacts, you remain responsible for complying with the do not call registers and marketing rules of the country concerned.

Removing your address

If you believe that information concerning you appears in our data, or if you want to exercise a right of access, rectification or erasure, write to us through the contact form or by e-mail. We answer every request and explain exactly which of your data we hold, which is normally none.
