What is in the archive
Every purchase is delivered as a ZIP archive holding the same data in three formats.
- CSV, UTF-8, with a semicolon as the separator
- XLSX, for Excel, LibreOffice and Google Sheets
- SQL, ready to import into MySQL or MariaDB
The free sample files are provided as XLS, so they open in any version of Excel.
Very large exports are split into parts of one million rows. Only the first part carries the header row; the parts belong to the same dataset and are meant to be concatenated.

Some countries carry additional columns. France, for instance, adds Department and Department Code to every file. The free sample of a country shows its exact columns.
Other formats
Any other format is produced on request: JSON, XML, a fixed width file, a different separator, a subset of columns, a specific column order, or a dump for another database engine. Ask for a quote.
Geographic formats
The files hold point coordinates, latitude and longitude, not polygons. We do not deliver shapefiles or boundary geometries as a standard product.
